"Mark Kilmer said some larger local businesses can pay as much as $20,000 a month for electricity, so the 2 percent surcharge could cost "a job or more per company." ....what big businesses are left here? Wal*Mart? they can afford it, what about looking at this from the point of the little guy? the homeowner?

NYS is the land of taxation. Lets let this one expire and lets look into the many other surcharges... Smaller government on the way would be great news to both taxpayers and for businesses.

Not so easy to move when the high tax rate keeps buyers from purchasing your home.

swizzer- I did just that 40 yrs. ago. Best move I ever made. You should look into (ask one of your state reps) what the state has changed to recruit businesses. They are buying TV time in Philly for promotion. Or do you need the high taxes to keep your profits in line???

Surcharges, fees and taxes is what keeps that welfare checks coming and the democrats in charge. If the good tax paying people all leave where will the democrats siphon the fees to keep the masses of dependents happy?

drugsrus, I don't know what TV ads you're watching, but the one's I see include messages about how four major tech companies have invested over $4 billion in New York for jobs. That's 4 followed by 9 zeroes. In order to accommodate that flash demand, SUNY Albany just built an addition to their nano-science program and Union and RIP have already had theirs.

Upstate New York is quickly becoming the Silicon Valley of the east.

This is a good thing, and certainly nothing to ignore.

that's what I'm saying there Skippy. It may be to your advantage to look into what those in charge in the Peoples Republic of NY have to offer an established business to maybe keep them there.

OR you could just keep subsidising the newcomers because you are so proud to be a NY businessman.

drugsrus, sorry but I'm going to side with what my eyes have seen and read. Drive right up Rt 67 and see for yourself in Malta and tell me that's not a serious investment there. Or to Albany? Or to Troy?

WHy would I believe what you interpret, falsely at that, to what I see for myself? Or is it that you also see the same things I do but refuse to admit those are good things?

swizzer- I'll type this really slow so maybe it will sink in. They have the hook baited well, maybe. Anything going on in Fulton, Hamilton, or Montgomery county??? Is there anything in thier giftbag for businesses already based in thier kingdom???? Maybe something you could take advantage of???

Oh , I'm sorry you're happy as a clam paying whatever they say and supporting the pajama group -- never mind
