By denying coverage to spouses, employers not only save the annual premiums, but also the new fees that went into effect as part of the Affordable Care Act. This year, companies have to pay $1 or $2 “per life” covered on their plans, a sum that jumps to $65 in 2014. And health law guidelines proposed recently mandate coverage of employees’ dependent children (up to age 26), but husbands and wives are optional. “The question about whether it’s obligatory to cover the family of the employee is being thought through more than ever before,” says Helen Darling, president of the National Business Group on Health.

RS, Every thing in our every day leads back to the mistakes made by Obama and his entire administration. The auto business will never be the same, the prices will rise in every sector of our lives until we get rid of a lot of Obama policies and you will continue to be on the loosing end because you still believe in fairy dust!

Who can forget the President's response when CNBC’s John Harwood asked him if high gas prices would provide an “incentive so that we do shift to alternative means of energy?” Obama answered, “I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment.” In other words, raise prices slowly -- but clearly, raise them.

PS I post FACTS every single day and the reason that it BOTHERS you is that it IS SO TRUE! Hard to stay in love with the man that gives liberals a tingle up their legs when every thing that he does goes so very wrong. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Still batting 100... wrong every time! Here is a hint if you want to see what is truly going on, look out of the window, not to msnbc!

RS I do not tell lies about the president that is your job trying to defend his shameful policies. Have you ever won an argument or do you simply insult then turn away?

TiredOfTax, it's really funny how you continue to beat the President while being woefully ignorant of the Congress that passes or rejects legislation. You've been called out on this about 357 times (which is incidentally enough your favorite caliber gun, funny how that worked out).
You also continue to steer, or at least attempt to, comment threads your anti-Obama direction or the direction your LH bosses want you to, which is rather telling if you ask me.
The economy continues to do well, and the numbers will prove it; but for one reason or another (boss's) you choose to ignore that.
That'll be all from me on this topic to you because I know that I'm right and you're wrong. Nothing can be said otherwise, especially when you fail to provide evidence to the contrary.

Ummm but every one of my posts should mention Obama someplace. He is the biggest failure in American history and after this last term even you will see how effectively he has stalled our economy and our countries future. Fast forward to today's conversation RS... try to stay informed.

Have you read the new budget proposal that Obama and the senate majority democrats have offered or the cuts in spending or what can be cut to avert the fiscal cliff? That is because the democrats do not HAVE a PLAN! Instead they want more money and they promise to cut the raise of spending that they propose to impart!

PS On topic to me is YOU and EVERY SINGLE democrat that is doing it all wrong or supporting the wrong doers! You want it to stop... start doing it RIGHT!

As far as I can see there are mistakes made by the wonderful one. Your answer to everything has done nothing right and bringing his mistakes to light makes my day nicer. I love returning the favor that the likes of you delivered at every chance you got when the R's were in charge. I love delivering to you every moment of love as much as you loved delivering it to us! O and the democrats have put us on the path to ruin and you are the cheerleader!

Did anyone notice that the money that Obama borrowed from China to pay for the pre-existing conditions is out of money? They say that they extremely underestimated the costs of that provision in the healthcare bill. We know for a fact that they EXTREMELY UNDERESTIMATED every cost in the Obamacareless bill!

Thank you for your concern rschweizer and I do see what you mean, an article about being careful about spending has not one single thing in common with a man that has added so much to our deficit in such a short time. I also see by the disagrees that many others also believe that Obama and careful spending has nothing at all in common. Again thanks for giving me this opportunity to wholeheartedly agree that Obama is NOT a CAREFUL spender when it comes to taxpayer dollars, my mistake!

TiredOfTax, I think you posted that last comment in the wrong section since nothing in this editorial had anything to do with the President.

President Obama promised to cut the deficit in his first term... he signed into law the deal that would cut spending and lower the deficit. I say let his law go into effect as it should. He is the one that stood before the US voters and said "we must keep the promises that we already made". I agree keep your promise!

Hilltopper, I totally agree with your first part of your post, but don't you remember the Big Bird debacle during the last presidential campaign? NPR and PBS are heavily subsidized with tax payer monies. The should be supported by their audiences only.
