Drugs,

Typical fake Republican answers always seem to start with a 'but'.

'You can get married... but YOU can't!' 'You can practice your religion... but YOU can't!'

and swizzer- (I can't believe I'm typing this)you are right in that there is a bunch of opposition to the current Republican party. but apparently you fail to see the opposition to king Barry and his band of criminals too, as I've said before-- the founders would be shooting by now.

swizzer and usedto, --I'm not a party person, politically. There is way too much mud slinging at election time. No candidate ever says what he/she is going to do to correct a problem. That's the one who gets my vote, or the one that isn't running for re-election for the umteenth time. BUT in the case of your savior, king Barry, it weas a case of anybody but him.

Disagree all you can or want to, this is my reason like it or not there is nothing here to go either way.

usedtolivethere, the only reason drugs has for being a Republican, as it seems evident from the postings here, is nothing more than 'I hate Obama, I hate Democrats', etc. Nothing indicates an actual appreciation for Republican values, tenets, or ideals versus just listing reasons for not being a Democrat.

And it's quite endemic if you look across the country, as it seems the Republican Party seems to have lost its touch, only angered by Democrats versus trying to actually embolden themselves.

swizzer- you are a real piece of work. ToT's post that I refered to was basically a thank you to the L-H for allowing this forum. So I'm just guessing that 9 people would rather it be shut down. Either that or they punched the disagree button just because ToT posted that tidbit. You seem to be the one telling me how dumb, or stupid I am, I merely attempt to shed light on where you may be wrong. I don't disagree with any of your posts just because it was your name attached to it. My blood pressure is always nice and low.

usedto- wrong again, wanna check ;-))

drugs, you're funny. You claim agrees/disagrees are a person's entitled opinion, but go bonkers when someone disagrees with you or someone you side with, such as your 'how can anyone disagree with ToT?' remark.

usedto- I just disagreed with your last post, mainly because I just answered the question in some detail. It will be interesting to see how many people hit that button on this and muy last post for obvious reasons.

They are meaningless, it's merely interesting that some people "agree" with a poster no matter what he/she may post. And some hit the disagree button faster than any quick draw artist can move as soon as they see who posted. Unlike you, I don't disagree with all your posts , only those clearly state your blind support for this administration, and failure to accept facts that may lead you to change your mind. Opinions are never wrong(yours, mine, and even swizzer's), I'll disagree when skewed data is presented. It is always worth a comment when somone "disagrees" with a question, or a blank post, or a typo or ***** explaination.

Because ToT's post "CHEERS to the LH for still allowing us to comment on this site..." currently has 18 "votes" 9 on each side. Please tell me how you can disagree with that post, except that it was posted by ToT??

wow swizzer, what started as an expression of my opinion that today's America has gone overboard on the safety issue due to our litigious society, and you end up telling me that negligence is more of a reason for lawsuits. And apparently you and a few other people seem to have the impression that IF you do everything safely and by the book you will live forever.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

drugsrus, you didn't have to say anything. In fact, you gave very few examples; but it was those examples and their very stupid and illogical connections that can only leave others and me to believe that you in fact do not think lawsuits that are based upon gross negligence on someone else's behalf are warranted.

swizzer- where did I say anything about drunk drivers??? or "someone else's negligence" ??? That number was all deaths, single car, bus, multiple car crashes, drivers who had medical conditions before a crash, etc. and you think that some shiester from Dewey, Screwem, and Howe couldn't find the homeowner negligent??

I have disagrees on that post so apparently somebody would sue the homeowner, and disagrees on the not so smart student (which is fact) or is our society not so sue happy???

Drugs, I would love to see you face 9/11 first responders, their widows, or other survivors and tell them that they need to just brush off attacks involving planes crashing into office buildings or the asbestos-filled dust particles in the rubble wihch caused cancer after and telling them they can't sue.

drugsrus, you're comparing accidents by your own negligence (not looking where you step on a sidewalk) versus accidents by someone else's negligence (a drunk driver crashing you on the highway, as an example).

This is categorically illogical. Get over it and move on already.

the disagrees start piling up - We live in the most litigeous society in the world. Locally a girl just tried to sue Lehigh University because she gat a C+ in a course and claimed that was reason to diminish her lifetime earnings by a million dollars. So, nobody would sue the homeowner???

you also need to realize that life is inherently dangerous. There was a time when if you tripped on an uneven sidewalk you picked yourself up and got moving before the homeowner saw how stupid you were for not watching where you were walking. Today call your lawyer and sue that lazy homeowner for neglecting to maintain a smooth walkway.

swizzer- I'll just guess that you are one of those who think death is avoidable as long as you live your life safely. Buckle up, do you wear a helmet when driving your car?? That will be the next law in the Peoples Republic of New York, I know they are working on every passenger must be buckled in. If you doubt my injury/death rate claim, check it out for yourself. It just took me less than 1 minute to find that the deaths per BILLION passenger miles between NY(city) and Boston (215 miles) was 11.7 which I'd say is an acceptable number.

drugsrus, those changes were made in the name of safety! Seat belts, helmets, and airbags help to prevent serious injury and death. Lawyers have no business in the mix, nor do they ever win, unless negligence on someone ELSE's behalf was had. You can't sue yourself for being injured if you were negligent in causing injury to yourself.

I'm guessing that at least 5 people think that death is avoidable. Really?? What do you know that the rest of us don't??
