MrBoB51, you lost me at 'lib speak'. I'm not a liberal, but thanks.

Now to your second point..the math. What math? What 'numbers'? What statistical analysis was cited? How do you draw your conclusion on no data? What was cited was an idea. An idea you took and ran with that suddenly makes sense with no basis in fact. I'll tell you what, I'll stop throwing St. Saul at you of you stop that nonsense.

Thanks for taking the bait sensibletax. Your opening sentence tipped your hand, no pandering allowed. Reread my previous post on lib-speak. Now you know how 'progressives' look to me. Plus shame on me for using St. Alinski, the liberal icon, against those it was never intended to be use on. That's not how it was supposed to work and YOU just confirmed it does when you were compelled to tell me to stop it. On the other hand you're right, I have those traits you describe AND I have the honor of personally being called an azzhole in no less than 5 languages.

Well Ishouldknow, that certainly settles it, no need to go any further...if it appeared in the leader herald then it must be the gospel truth.

Assessment rolls are available online. If you are over 65 making 100K you would not be elibible for the enhanced star, but your veteran and agricultural exemptions would not be negated by your salary. The county treasurer or budget officer should be able to answer budget questions.

Bob I usually agree with you, but I knew exactly what rschweizer was saying and the math does make sense. And stop throwing Saul Allinsky in here every time someone shows a smart side to themselves. It doesn't make you look smart, it makes you look arrogant and condescending.

"It may actually be beneficial for retirees to go elsewhere". Sounds like Adults in the room makes rschweizer nervous. Meanwhile, while he ponders why he stands for nothing and those that do drive him crazy lets take a quick review on Lib-speak, for future reference. If you're not a progressive, you're regressive. When a prog. says 'forward' what they mean is to disagree is to go backwards. When they tell you 'it's common sense' to disagree is to be senseless. Lastly, if you disagree with a 'balanced approach', you're unbalanced. So remember this when engaged with someone who does not let the facts get in the way of an emotional reaction.

That may not what you intended to say rschweizer but it is what you wrote. In your next post you allude to getting seniors and STAR recipients out of NYS to save money. How? Relocation? You may think you have good intentions but you do not know how to articulate or present anything that doesn't insult or try to create a divide, another Alinski Rule you don't know how to apply. As I have said, that works in school, not in Realville. Some of us have already run the race even before you got the notice it was scheduled. You have a lot of catching up to do.

rschweizer- ToT, MrBoB51, Scarecrow and even Hilltopper have been polite, trying to get you to "see some light" in errors of many of your posts. "topper, not long ago commented that one of us was a bit like a skunk (Rule#5-never get in a pi*sing contest w/a skunk). Good analogy to trying to show you where you could be wrong. BUT you just keep on going trying to show us how much you know and how right you are. The reality is that you are just an over educated jerk who is so far out of touch with the real world that it is plain to see that you are beyond hope. Your pal pres. Barry needs useful idiots like you to steer the masses to a new Constitution and disolve the USA as we (not you)currently know our country. I've always said that I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. I now realize that that is you. So say what you want, I'm done

MrBoB51, I know exactly how STAR works and never claimed it went with the property not the person, so I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. And yes I have two homes in the county, one I live in. The objective I was suggesting is that STAR-qualified retirees leaving the state, as was suggested by Knickman had you read that comment, could actually be beneficial, as the former STAR-owned and -occupied home could then be bought and occupied by a non-STAR qualified person, which would eventually lower my tax bill, and yours asa well.

rschweizer-the best move I ever made was leaving The Peoples Republic of New York 40 yrs. ago. I saw that the first year out. My brother got a bigger tax return check from NY than my tax bill was to Pa. on comparable incomes and you should heed the advice given by MrBob. you haven't learned yet that the good Lord gave you (and everybody else) 2 ears for listening, 2 eyes for seeing (reading in this case) and only 1 mouth (OK 2 hands for typing here)for a reason. I'll tell you again - before you can be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid. You learned nothing in college.

Guess what rschweizer, that STAR exemption, unlike car insurance, goes with the PERSON not the house, I sell my house, buy another and the exemption goes with me and you still foot the bill. I used to an idealist too, then I grew up. It's obvious you've never bought a house or you would not come up nonsense like only selling to someone who does not qualify for STAR, you'd be spending a lot of time and money in litigation and end up losing your house, money. If you really want to debate retired senior vs young idealist, bring it on, but also bring your A-game, leave the name calling and personal attacks out of it and we'll see how you do because its past time you started learning how to defend YOUR positions rather that criticizing and demanding answers of others while not contributing anything worthwhile. That is, unless you like getting verbally azzkicked every time you post.

What evidence does ishouldknow have to prove these claims? And by evidence, ishouldknow should include specific citations from his sources, including the names or titles of the documents, page numbers, and locations of where those documents can be found.
