Do Fulton, Montgomery and southern Hamilton counties have a lot to offer? You bet they do.
When you read this 2015 edition of The Leader-Herald’s Portraits, you’ll get a picture-perfect view of the area’s many positive characteristics and gain a better understanding of the progress being made here.
This edition contains photos and stories about the people, industry and businesses of our area. The magazine will take you on a tour of education, tourism, recreation, health care and the financial sector. Portraits will show you many of the reasons our area is a great place to live and raise a family. We’re home to countless organizations aiming to improve the quality of life for local residents. Many local companies are offering great jobs and strengthening our economy. The area has plenty of housing opportunities and many viable local businesses serving people’s every need. Tourism is a major local industry, with numerous historic sites and attractions, and there’s no shortage of entertainment and recreational opportunities, such as sports venues, theaters, art galleries, ski centers and, of course, lakes and hiking trails. All of these attributes are reflected in Portraits.
This year’s edition also takes a closer look at local senior citizen centers, the planned Tryon business park in Perth, the ever-improving Glove Performing Arts Center in Gloversville, downtown Johnstown’s success, expansions at local hospitals and BOCES’ new technology program.
We hope you’ll take some time to flip through the many pages of our 2015 edition of Portraits. When you do, we’re sure you will agree our region of the state is a special place that has a lot to offer, and you can be proud to call it home.
