Stowell, Matis, Pollak register victories at Royal Mountain

CAROGA LAKE — The 50cc senior stock 7-8 class kicked off Monster Supercross at Royal Mountain, where 215 riders competed Wednesday. Johnstown’s J.T. Vietri and Makail N. Mabbett finished second and third to Cohoes’ Alex Hytko in the class. In the 50cc junior stock 4-6 class, Gloversville’s Brandon Handy was second, Johnstown’s Tyler Savage was third and Fonda’s Tyler Blowers finished fourth. In quad novice, Broadalbin’s Jesse Angel was second, Gloversville’s Jesse Dutcher was third and Amsterdam’s Robert Decker finished fifth. Johnstown’s Kyle Pollak won the 80 plus 10-15 class, where Amsterdam’s Doug Guisti finished fifth. Guisti also finished third in the mini 80 12-15 class. Canajoharie’s Stephen Matis won the quad amateur class and Canajoharie’s James Stowell won the quad amateur class. Behind Matis, Broadalbin’s Dan Sawyer was third and Amsterdam’s Kevin Watrobski was fourth. Behind Stowell, Palatine Bridge’s Dustin Watson was fourth and Fort Plain’s Rick Anderson was fifth.

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville High School parent-athlete meeting will take place Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The meeting is for all junior varsity and varsity athletes who are playing a fall sport.
Starlite sets junior league practice
GLOVERSVILLE — Starlite Lanes will host a free practice for its junior league Sept. 6.
The bumper and bantam league# will bowl at 8:30 a.m., while the junior league will bowl at 10:30 a.m.
Pin Pals league seeking bowlers
GLOVERSVILLE — The Pin Pals women’s league at Starlite Lanes is seeking bowlers.
The league bowls Wednesday nights.
