Broadalbin Seniors elect new officers
BROADALBIN — The Broadalbin Senior Citizens conducted an Office for the Aging luncheon and meeting April 30 with 45 members and one guest in attendance. President Eleanor Merritt presided. The Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance were recited.
Pat Ryfa, committee chairman, presented the slate of officers. The written ballots took place one month early and the new officers are as follows: Ruth Lee, president; Betty Guadagno, vice president; Joe McDonald, secretary; Phil Guadagno, treasurer and Marge Gundersen, chaplain.
A discussion on the senior bus run took place.
Joy Canfield passed out the area events calendar, which she put together.
Ryfa, the trip chairman, gave an update on future trips.
June Olmstead was the 50/50 winner.
At Wednesday’s meeting, a representative from OFA will present a program. Those interested in the OFA luncheon must make reservations in advance.
Senior variety show set for May 18
GLOVERSVILLE — On May 18 the Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville and Fulton County will conduct its variety show. The show is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Gloversville High School. Performers will be age 50 and older.

YWCA bridge results announced
GLOVERSVILLE — The YWCA Monday Duplicate Bridge Group played the Howell Movement this week in the YWCA rooms on Church Street.

GLOVERSVILLE — President Jeannie McDuffie called the Ida L. McGinnis Club meeting to order. There were 45 members present.
The club will have its dinner banquet Tuesday at the Holiday Inn. The meeting will also take place that day.
Free food available at local YWCA
GLOVERSVILLE — The Ida L. McGinnis Club has a free food give-away for area seniors from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. each Thursday at the YWCA on 35 Church St.
