A class on "Writing about Art" will be held on Tuesday, February 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mabee Farm Historic Site’s George Franchere Education Center in Rotterdam Junction. After a guided tour of the “James Whitbeck, Inspirations From the Past” Exhibit, presently on view at the Center, students will discuss the paintings and review the elements of art (line, shape, color, texture), visual movement and composition. Each student will select one painting to write about. This is a hands-on workshop and students will complete the class with a written description of one of Whitbeck's paintings. This workshop is appropriate for high school juniors, seniors and adults. Instructor is artist Deb Crosby, a 30-year art teacher and author. Class is free, donations appreciated. Preregistration is required by Friday, February 15. Call (518) 887-5073 to register. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
