Micropolis announces Valentine Meet-the-Artists Event

Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery will be celebrating Valentines Day with a special “Meet the Artists” event on Friday, February 1, in the gallery. Unique Valentines will be available in addition to paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber collages, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and gift certificates.

On display will be a new selection of original artwork by co-op artists Laurie Cerasia, Ruth Crotty, Michele Drozd, Susy Easterly, Katherine Ehle, Cheryl Gutmaker, Alexandra Higgins, Linda Hinkle, Michael Intrabartola, Dragan Konakov, Betsy Moore-Galinsky, Mike Miller, Lynda Naske, Judy Olson, Judith Plotner, Bradford Smith, Sandy Smith, and Janet Marie Yeates.

Guest artist Stan Plotner will be in the gallery between noon and 7 p.m. to present his collection of one-of-a-kind handcrafted silver jewelry. Stan’s work has been exhibited nationally as well as in Japan, Australia, and Canada, and in museums including the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York City. Stan welcomes the opportunity to discuss his design work.

A reception will be held between 5 and 7 p.m.. with sweets and treats served. The event is free and open to the public. Micropolis is located inside Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, 30 North Main Street, Gloversville.
