Introducing Sawyer Fredericks

Last night, I took my kids to a great open mic event at Happy Jacks Cafe, the coffeehouse at the Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market in downtown Gloversville. The place had a great turnout, and the local talent was impressive, as always.

My kids and I especially enjoyed hearing the last performer of the evening, 12-year-old Sawyer Fredericks of Fultonville. He sang a nice cover of Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas” and a couple of his original songs. I hope this kid continues to develop his skills as a guitarist, singer and composer, because he’s already showing incredible potential.
