Essay contest for GHS students

March 8, 2011 - Teen Vox

The Writers Circle, with support from Carole and Frank Chichester and the Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County, will sponsor an essay contest in memory of late poet Tim Daynard.

The contest is open to Gloversville High School students only. Non-fiction essays 500 to 1,500 words in length will be accepted.

Entries must be turned in to the principal’s office by March 21. The winning essays will be selected by the Writers Circle, and cash prizes will be awarded for first place ($100), second place ($50) and third place ($25).

The prize-winning essays will be considered for publication in The Leader-Herald's Teen Vox column.
