| | No Child Left Behind?April 14, 2010 - Pat BeckFor those that wonder around our website you may have already read my opinion on a recent public meeting concerning this subject. You can read the story that was published on Tuesday April 13 reporting the explanation given by federal officials at an open meeting. After reviewing several comments from readers - I did what I try not to do - I reacted. It is so discouraging to see, time and again, that an issue as important as the "topic" of this public meeting turns to nothing more than bashing individuals. Does anyone have an opinion on the No Child Left Behind? Are there no educators or administrators or parents that would be so worldly as to stick to the subject and give some well intended thoughts? Very frustrating, not only on this story but on the majority of them. The No Child Left Behind Act requires schools to bring all students to a proficient level in reading, math and science by 2014. School districts and states must provide detailed report cards to the public about their progress toward this goal. What do our area report cards say on if we are reaching this? That is what I would encourage people to look at and comment. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
