Mean - Meaner and Meanest

March 9, 2010 - Pat Beck
Mean spirited people.

I guess. they have always existed, the people who are harsh in judgment and unkind.

Right upfront, I am a fan of freedom of expression and am in awe of the technological advantages that are at our fingertips.

What I am not a fan of is the mean spirit epidemic that no one has developed any immunization for or identified it as a fatal disease.

The comment sections of newspapers, blogs and anywhere that people can hide behind and spew words of malicious name-calling or humiliation is being dominated by the negative cruel individuals.

I cannot believe how very disrespectful and mean spirited people are.

It’s not just on blogs, I have publicly witnessed people complaining about a service or product and they cannot handle the issue without belittling the person they are talking to, or screaming at, not even knowing or caring if that person has any control over their problem!

You hear it in the workplace, school, and homes and even in the “supposed” sanctity of a house of worship.

Why is it that People are always willing to go along with negative energy?

I love Dr. Seuss, when I read it to my children it was always fun to talk about the meaning. Reading one of his witty writings to our granddaughters once again gave us the opportunity to learn through fun.

So to all of your mean spirited people, I take poetic liberties to quote from the song “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch” and dedicate it to so many, to too many of you.

Your soul is full of gunk. The three words that best describe you Are as follows, and I quote, "Stink, stank, stunk!" You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch! You're the king of sinful sots! Your heart's a dead tomato, Splotched with moldy, purple spots, Mr. Grinch! Your soul is an apalling dump-heap, Overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable rubbish imaginable, Mangled-up in tangled-up knots! You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch!
