The bell tolls for the "Empire Grill"

For fans of Gloversville's favorite literary son, Richard Russo (with apologies to Joe Persico), a minor tidbit from the Associated Press:

SKOWHEGAN, Maine (AP) — A central Maine restaurant that was prominently featured in the HBO movie "Empire Falls" is shutting its doors.
The owners of the Empire Grill in Skowhegan say they'll hang up their ladles after serving their final meals on Sunday.
Tom Miller and Kerry Pomelow took over the restaurant in 2007 a year after "Empire Falls" aired. Paul Newman, Helen Hunt and Ed Harris were among the actors in the two-part miniseries.
Miller tells the Morning Sentinel the restaurant wasn't built to be a full-service restaurant, with its small kitchen and lack of walk-in coolers.
The movie was based on the 2001 novel by author Richard Russo about a fictitious Maine mill town down on its luck.
