| | Quick responseJuly 17, 2008 - Pat Beck This will be a quick. “Why can’t we comment on the obituaries?” Some readers will be critical of my answer. I will answer it with the question, why would we subject families to the types of comments from some individuals that have been posted on our site? For anyone who wants to get a message out, the majority of funeral homes offer the opportunity for condolences to the family on their websites. I prefer the old fashion way. A handwritten note or card, phone call or visit to the family. Going a step further and remembering the family in the days, months and years ahead. The Leader-Herald will always consider appropriate letters submitted to the editor. “If you know someone, your name won’t appear in the newspaper.” Not true. Absolutely, not true. This was addressed in my blog “the answer is no” and that is still the answer.
