| | From 'Big Band' to 'Big Beard'December 7, 2009 - Bill AckerbauerToday, I got a call from a reader who wanted to share some information one of the "Remember When?" photos that ran in Sunday's edition. The photos, provided by Marie Otto, showed a couple of big bands that played around the area back in the 1940s. Apparently, Art Gibbons' band (see picture at right) included his brothers, Howard and Fred, the latter of whom is the father of ZZ Top guitarist and songwriter Billy Gibbons.
