We do get compliments....

February 21, 2008 - Pat Beck
In the newspaper business it is more the norm to receive constructive criticism and down right mean comments with compliments being rare.

This has not been the case on how people are viewing our website. We have had numerous compliments and just one (civil) complaint.

For many of our “snowbirds”, those who relocate to a warmer climate for a few months, the newspaper’s website has been warmly welcomed into their homes. Many of these devoted readers had always made sure they received a mail subscription, some still do, but now they are not at the mercy of the U.S. Postal system. Now, they don’t have to wonder what day they will receive a week’s worth of newspapers.

I do want to make sure that I answer questions asked through this blog. To Mary Ellen, we will be discussing the possibility of putting recipes that are published in The Extra section on Sundays on the site – good suggestion.

Thanks Harley for your note. You certainly do have a long time history with this newspaper and I value your comments.

Suggestion for anyone who has an article, wedding, engagement, community happening and any other information you would like us to consider publishing, take a trip to our virtual newsroom on the site. It is a user-friendly way to submit your information to us. If you have any problems, give our city editor Adam Winslow a call at 725-8616 Ext. 315 and he will be happy to help you through it.

Here’s an idea of having some fun with this Sunday’s newspaper. Go to the comics where you will usually find the “Kids Across/Parents Down” crossword puzzle. It’s fun, educational and don’t worry the kids will help you with your answers.
