Bill's Broadsides

POSTED:Mon, September 21, 2009 @ 11:35A

Photos from the farm

We had a blast yesterday at Sundae on the Farm at the Hoffmans' Sand Flats Orchards in Fonda. Jim Hoffman told me more than 2,800 free ice cream sundaes were consumed, so I know at least 2,801 people were there (because I didn't get one).

I took a bunch of photos at the event, a couple of which appear in today's paper. I thought I would post a few more here, along with a link to the CU page where all of them can been seen.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to photograph the cow-milking contest between the Fonda-Fultonville teachers and Mohawk town officials, because I was playing music at the time that happened.

I believe someone is going to send us a photo and the results of the milking contest, so it will probably be in the paper sometime soon.

If you want to know how much any gov't employee in New York state is paid, check out this site:

(obviously, use . where DOT is indicated)

I'd like to know which group won the milking contest. Both teachers and local officials are tops at milking the public cash cow, so why not a real cow.
