A terrific response

April 6, 2009 - Bill Ackerbauer
It looks as though our effort to bring back the "Remember When?" feature has been well-received. Several people have sent in vintage photos, so I will likely be able to continue to publish them each Sunday in the Leader Extra section of the print edition.
My thanks to Lori Semprevio, who submitted the photo that ran yesterday. After that section went to press, I received some additional caption information, so I'll provide it here (see caption at right).
As the feature continues, I'd like to provide a mix of times and places, so Gloversville, Johnstown and the surrounding communities all will be represented.
Please keep the old-time photos coming. Here's the contact info blurb:

Readers are invited to submit vintage photos of local people, places or scenes for “Remember When?” Send photos to the attention of assistant city editor Bill Ackerbauer at The Leader-Herald, 8 E. Fulton St., Gloversville, NY 12078. Photos also may be submitted online via the “Submit News” link at www.leaderherald.com or by e-mail to backerbauer@leaderherald.com.
