Attention, writers and filmmakers!

I thought I'd pass along some news about two things coming up at our local institution of higher learning. Two student groups at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, the FM Film Club and SAW (the Student Artists and Writers Guild), are working on some interesting creative projects this spring, and they both are soliciting submissions from the community at large. 

The Film Club has planned the college's first-ever film festival, which will take place from noon to 8 p.m. May 2. The club wants filmmakers to submit DVDs or VHS tapes of original films under 60 minutes in length. The deadline is April 15, and the submission fee is $5. SAW is putting together the 2009 edition of The Logo, FM's literary magazine. The editors will accept submissions of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and artwork including photography until April 3.
