Public Spaces visit and forum

Just a reminder for Gloversville residents and others concerned about the future of the city: Phil Myrick, vice president of the nonprofit Project for Public Spaces, will be in town tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 17). He'll be taking a look around to see if Gloversville might be suitable as a pilot location for a national program to revitalize small cities.

Judge Vincent DeSantis and other local leaders will take Phil on a tour of Gloversville, highlighting such "public spaces" as the Glove Theatre, the new farmers market pavilion, the Estee Commons apartment complex, the downtown YMCA building and the Public Library.

After they see the sights, Mr. Myrick and an official from Cornell Cooperative Extension are expected to have a "debriefing" discussion with business and civic leaders before a public forum and Q-&-A, which is set to take place at 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Gloversville.
