| | House concert this SundayFebruary 5, 2009 - Bill AckerbauerFor the live music fans in the area, I have a hot tip: The acoustic blues duo Beaucoup Blue will be performing in a house concert at 7 p.m. Sunday in Sprakers, just outside Canajoharie. (Check out the video clip below.) The musicians are father-son duo David and Adrian Mowry of Philadelphia. This is a nationally touring roots/Americana act, and I'm really looking forward to catching them in the most intimate of venues: somebody's living room. They recently played at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, tomorrow they'll be at the Society for Ethical Culture in Brooklyn, on Saturday they have a gig in Oswego, and on Sunday they'll be in our neck of the woods. Later this month, they're heading down to the International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis. The concert will be hosted by Roland Vinyard, a friend of mine who is a musician and a member of Canajoharie's Music on Main Street committee. The suggested donation per person is $10 and seating is limited. For more information, directions or to make a reservation, call Roland at 673-3212 or e-mail him at roland@thebardrocks.com.
