| | Celebrating Johnstown, the infomercialSeptember 22, 2008 - Bill AckerbauerAs promised, here's a preview of the video I put together promoting the new book. It only runs about a minute long, and it includes just a handful of the many photos from the book. For the acoustically curious, the background music consists of two instrumental tracks I recorded just for the video. The music in the main section is a fiddle tune (by the famous Scottish composer Neil Gow) called "Jamie Allen." I learned the tune several years ago from Albany-area acoustic-music guru Glenn Weiser (www.celticguitarmusic.com). I tried recording it with other lead instruments (fiddle, mandolin), but the guitar ended up sounding best to my ear. The music that plays with the credits at the end, also a guitar instrumental, is a number I adapted from an old ragtime tune called "Sister Kate Rag." I call my version "Sister Kate's Fling."
