Micropolis Gallery plans reception

GLOVERSVILLE — Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery will host a meet-the-artists reception June 7.
Jenny Clay, a ceramic artist from Pottstown, Pa., will be on hand to present a collection of her work. Clay, a graduate of Arcadia University, studied ceramics and photography and enjoys combining the two disciplines. She has also been influenced by tile work of the arts and crafts movement. Clay comes to this area for the summer as artist-in-residence at Bellwether Studio in Northville.
According to a statement about Clay on the Bellwether Studio website, she spent seven weeks at the School of Fine and Performing Arts at the Chautauqua Institute. She also has been an apprentice at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works in Doylestown and worked as a studio assistant for Gregg Moore in Glenside, Pa. Also on display at Micropolis will be a new selection of original artwork by member artists Laurie Cerasia, Ruth Crotty, Michele Drozd, Susy Easterly, Katherine Ehle, Frances Gaffney, Cheryl Gutmaker, Alexandra Higgins, Linda Hinkle, Michael Intrabartola, Dragan Konakov, Betsy Moore-Galinsky, Lynda Naske, Judy Olson, Judith Plotner, Bradford Smith, Sandy Smith, and Janet Marie Yeates.
These artists work in a variety of media and produce original paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber collages, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, and pottery.
The reception will take place between 5 and 7 p.m. and will be free and open to the public. Micropolis is inside Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, 30 N. Main St.
