OFA: March is National Nutrition Month
The Fulton County Office for the Aging Senior Nutrition Program recognizes March as National Nutrition Month. We join the statewide efforts to deliver high quality, nutritious meals to older New Yorkers as part of the national March for Meals campaign. New York is a leader in providing the highest quality meals to older adults.
The Fulton County Office for the Aging Senior Nutrition Program provides home delivery and congregate lunch time dining all across the county. The program promotes better health through improved nutrition, socialization, nutrition education, counseling and supportive services. In Fulton County we serve an average of 90,000 meals a year to individuals who are in need of a healthy, hot meal delivered to them or at one of many dining sites across the county. If you are interested in any of these programs, call us at 518-736-5650.
Every March, Senior Nutrition programs across the country and raise awareness in their communities about the critical nutritional needs of older adults and the importance of healthy meals, nutrition counseling, and education. During National Nutrition Month, programs highlight the importance of improving health and the critical role volunteers play in preparing and delivering meals. Please join us at the Fulton County Office for the Aging in thanking all the volunteers who assist in delivering meals or assist at the dining sites for being part of the great team of helpers in our community.
We look forward to any questions you may regarding March for Meals.
