The president should be held to high standards

Most recently sexual assault and sexual harassment has gotten celebrities such as Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey, anchorman Matt Lauer, and many others fired. The me-too movement has also brought down politicians such as Minnesota Senator Al Franken, Michigan Congressman John Conyers and Arizona Congressman Trent Franks. But the sad part is that the current occupant of the Oval Office has over a dozen women that said that he sexually assaulted them. I strongly believe all the women that say that incumbent president of the United States sexually assaulted or sexually harassed them. My question is why isn’t Donald J. Trump held accountable? The president of the United States is not above the law.

Donald J. Trump in his own words in a recording with them Entertainment Tonight host Billy Bush said that he can sexually assault women and get away with it because of the fact that he has a celebrity. President Donald Trump also told disc jockey Howard Stern on the Howard Stern Show, when he owned the Miss America Pageant that he always walked in the dressing rooms when the women were undressed and the reason why he got away with it he said was because he owned the pageant.

Last year during a presidential debate with then-candidate secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, Donald Trump brought President Bill Clinton’s accusers to the debate he said that they deserve to get their voice heard. But my question is why doesn’t President Donald J. Trump want his accusers voices heard?

The president of the United States is a role model for all Americans to look up to for inspiration. The sitting president isn’t a role model that Americans can inspire to at all. With that said, I strongly believe for the better good of our country that Donald J. Trump should effectively immediately resign the office of president of the United States. The president of the United States should be held to the same accountability standard as all the celebrities and politicians that lost their powerful positions that they once held for decades.
