Support the best candidate — ‘Betsy’ Batchelor

Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Batchelor is the Democratic candidate for the Gloversville Common Council from the 3rd Ward. I am happy to be writing in support of her candidacy.

I have known Betsy for fifteen years, and in that time we have worked together on a variety of projects in our community.

Betsy has served as the co-chair and is presently the chair of the successful campaign to renovate the Gloversville Public library (construction is now underway, and we are watching the remarkable transformation of this important 1904 building). She is also a member of the library’s board of trustees. For six years Betsy was a co-chair of the popular annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Gloversville Public Library, the “celebration.” And she was one of the co-founders of the Micropolis Gallery on Main Street where area artists are able to exhibit and sell their work.

Wherever Betsy has been involved, she has brought tremendous amounts of energy and commitment, and our community has become a better place because of her. She is a hard worker and an attentive listener. She knows how to organize and how to motivate people to work together.

Betsy will draw on these same skills, energy and commitment when she is our representative from the 3rd Ward on the Common Council.

I hope you will join me in voting for Betsy Batchelor on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7.
