Proud of students on bowling team

Recently at the Greater Johnstown School District Board of Education meeting – and soon at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce dinner?- the Johnstown High School varsity bowling team was recognized for the hard work it has put in over the past two seasons.

The team won the Foothills Council title, the foothills tournament and the Class B sectionals?- two years in a row.

I am extremely proud of their performance and attitude, on and off the lanes. I always get positive comments from the opposing coaches and parents. When we won the sectionals this year. the tournament director told me, “Your team is a class act and they play the game the way it should be played.”

I want to thank Jim Robare, the school board and the community for their support.

Bowling is a great sport, but the junior leagues are fading away, and in two or three years, it may be hard to field a team. Please contact me or the school if you have a student interested in learning the sport.

Thanks again to everyone, and we are looking forward to our 2015-16 season.
