Kenneth R. Carlson
Kenneth R. Carlson, a.k.a. “Moose,” 73, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He was a Johnstown High School graduate and lifelong area resident.
He was the oldest son of the late Kenneth R. Carlson Sr. and Verna Esther Dalton Carlson. He was the brother of Ronald Carlson of South Carolina who predeceased him.
Ken is survived by his longtime companion, Ellen Trojan of Gloversville; sons, Walter R. Carlson and companion Dawn Smith of Amsterdam and Martin D. Carlson (Amy) of Fonda; grandson, Colbie Carlson of Johnstown; and step-grandchildren, Chelsea Horton and Kenneth Horton of Fonda.
He had worked for Lee Dye during the 1970s to early 1980s. He then pursued a career in shipping and receiving at GE – Von Roll, where he later retired from.
Ken loved to spend time with his two sons and reminisce about old times. He enjoyed classic cars, auto shows, auto books and magazines. He absolutely loved building and collecting models along with building Legos with his grandson.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating.
Interment will take place Wednesday at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla, NY.
