James ‘Jim’ Belknap Jr.

Mr. Belknap

James “Jim” Belknap Jr., 46, of Johnstown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 2018. He will be forever loved and missed by all his family and friends.

James was born on April 11, 1972, to James “Jim” Belknap Sr. and Denise Etherton in Gloversville, N.Y. He was a graduate of Johnstown H.S. Class of 1990, attended Morrisville College on a basketball scholarship, attended FMCC achieving dean’s list for computer science and had an art for contracting work. Jim had a passion for music, the outdoors and a great love for fishing.

Jimmy had a smile as big as he was tall, a sense of humor that could brighten the darkest of moods. If he loved you, you knew it when he looked at you and you definitely felt it in those great big bear hugs he gave. When with him a laugh was never scarce nor was his love. As many would say, he was a gentle giant.

He leaves behind his loving parents Denise Pollak (Joe) and James Belknap Sr. (Cindy); the love of his life, Jennifer Gombossy-Carville; his two children, Victoria Elizabeth and Joseph Ronald James; his sisters, Melissa Santa Maria (Dominic) and Sara Bennett (Larry); his brothers, Joshua (Katie), Nicholas; his stepsister, Bobbi-Jo Haverly (Michael) and stepbrother, Michael Hall (Michelle); Kyle(Sybil), Brent (Stephanie) and Eric Pollak, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

James was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Anna Maie and Alexander Etherton and Elizabeth and Pearle Belknap, an aunt and several uncles.
