Chester Wenskoski, 94, of Noonan Road, Fort Johnson, NY, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam, NY. Born on May 13, 1924, in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Leon and Mary Korona Wenskoski.
Mr. Wenskoski was a lifelong area resident and attended the former St. Joseph’s School in Amsterdam, NY. He was a builder and owned Wenskoski Brothers Builders. He also was a farmer for over 60 years.
Mr. Wenskoski was united in marriage to Sophie Kwiatkowski Wenskoski on September 21, 1947. She died on June 29, 2005.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. He also was a member of the Civil Air Patrol at the town of Perth Airport; he enjoyed flying, boating, motorcycle riding and snowmobiling. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Mr. Wenskoski is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Donna Wenskoski of Fort Johnson, NY; his cherished grandchildren, Ronald Wenskoski and his wife Samantha of Fort Johnson, NY and Suzanne Wenskoski and her fiance Matt Mazzone of Clifton Park, NY; his sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and John Wiencek of Hagaman, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Danielle Sherman of Amsterdam, NY.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard Wenskoski, Leo Wenskoski and Richard Wenskoski.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam, NY, with Deacon Michael Ryba officiating. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
