Rexford A. Ruby

Rexford A. Ruby, age 66, of Caroga Lake, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam.

He was born in Gloversville on April 20, 1951, a son of the late Carl Ruby and Margaret Lathers Sowle.

Rex was married for 31 years to Marylouise Noone Ruby, who passed away on January 4, of this year. He is now reunited with her.

He was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School. He then proudly served in the United States Marines. He loved spending time on the lake with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed motorcycling and antiquing. He and his wife owned and operated Fulton County Glass in Gloversville.

Rex is survived by his son, Marty Farrant of Dallas, TX; daughter, Mara Frasier of Gloversville; three grandchildren, Katrina, Lucas, and Jace; three brothers, Richard Ruby, Scott Ruby and Mike Sowle (Teresa); and one sister, Amy Karas; one brother-in-law, the Rev. David Noone of Fayetteville, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In keeping with his request, there will be no calling hours.

A service of remembrance for both Rex and his wife Marylouise will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 North Melcher Street, Johnstown.

Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in his honor may do so to the Ambulance Service of Fulton County.
