Norman E. Rabe
Norman E. Rabe of Broadalbin, NY, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at home.
He was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 18, 1932, a son of Norman F. and Cletah Henion Rabe. Norm met and married his wife, Kathryn MacDonald Rabe at Michigan State University. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was a company commander at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Norm worked in the paper/packaging industry for thirty six years, retiring in 1992 and settling in Broadalbin. Wherever he lived, he found pleasure volunteering to help youth, the elderly, and his community. He was genuinely interested in people from all walks of life.
In addition to his parents, Norm was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Calquhoun.
Survivors include his wife, Katy; two children, Steve Rabe of Pawleys Island, SC and Letah Graff of Minaville, NY; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Adam, Jarrett and Jefferson Rabe, Julia Badgett of SC; Erin and Corey Graff, and Heather Coupal of NY; and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial was held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to Cure PSP, an effort to support research and awareness of Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), a rare neurodegenerative disease; or to the Broadalbin Ecumenical Food Pantry, in care of the funeral home.
