Joseph Gunnison Jr.

Joseph Gunnison Jr., 84, of Gloversville, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at Nathan Littauer Hospital with his wife and son by his side. He was born July 25, 1933, the son of Joseph Gunnison Sr. and Nellie Murray Gunnison in Ephratah, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Fountain Gunnison; his son, Joseph III (Amy) and grandchildren, Joseph IV and Ruth-Ann, who has kept him going for the last nine years.

He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa and her two children, Jo-ann and her four children, Connie and her six children, Donna Lee and her three children and Diane and her three children.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with some special in-laws. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his sisters, Gladys, Nellie, Shirley, Rosie and half sisters, Margaret and Hazel.

Also predeceased by his brother, Al (Hubby) and half brothers, Tom, Bill and Harry.

He served in the Army from 1953-1955 and was in the Reserves till 1961.

Joe worked for Lee Dye Co. for over 35 years.

He loved to hunt, fish, grow a big garden and loved playing with the grandchildren.

We would like to thank both JAVAC and the Fulton County Ambulance services along with all the staff on duty in the Emergency Room that night. They all did a fantastic job. A special thanks to all the staff in the ICU Unit, respiratory and the security staff. You all were there for us in our time of need. Another special thanks to Butch, Tina and Char for your support over the last year.

As per Joe’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements were handled by the Amico Funeral Home.
