Clinton ‘Lasher’ Booth

Clinton “Lasher” Booth, 83, of Mayfield, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. He was born in Mayfield, NY, on November 19, 1933, the son of the late Clinton Eddy and Evelyn Ada Montayne Booth.

A lifetime resident of the area and graduate of Mayfield High School, class of 1952, he worked for General Electric, Coleco and Fulton County Department of Weights and Measures as director. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cutting wood.

Lasher is survived by his loving wife, Jean Groff Booth; children, Kelly (Ernie) Fancher of Gloversville, Melanie (Eric) Loveless of Rotterdam, Sean (Tim) Boothstod of Conway, SC; stepchildren, Paul (Ann) Rockwell of Milford, CT, David (Jeny) Rockwell of Edinburg, Karen (Andy) West of Edinburg, Debbie (Bruce) Ellsworth of Northville; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia Long of Johnstown, Caroline Robinson of Mayfield and Linda Newton of Broadalbin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Aaron Craig Booth; and a brother, Donald Booth.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service of remembrance that will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Edinburg Cemetery. The Rev. Kathy Reese will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the James A. Brennan Humane Society or Mountain Valley Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of Northville Funeral Home.
