Ruth Ellen (Wemple) Boyle
Ruth Ellen (Wemple) Boyle, 97, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on May 12, 2017, at East Ridge Retirement Community in Cutler Bay, Florida.
She was born November 5, 1919, in Riceville, New York and was the second of five children. She graduated from Gloversville High School and Gloversville Business School. She worked for several years as a secretary at Van Buren’s Glove Shop in Mayfield, New York, and during World War II she worked as a secretary in the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C.
She was united in marriage on July 17, 1942, to Woodrow W. Boyle, who preceded her in death March 5, 2006. They were married for sixty-three blissful years.
Ruth enjoyed bowling, dancing, preparing meals for family, participating in church related activities, and being with family.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Charles Boyle of Macedon, NY, Cathy Boyle of Titusville FL, Nathan (Cindy) Boyle of Cutler Bay, FL, Naomi Boyle of Olathe, KS, Mark (Katy) Boyle of Palmetto Bay, FL; sister, Mildred Ellithorpe of Gloversville, NY; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Ivan Wemple; siblings, Helen Barker Griffis, June Wadsworth, Richard Wemple; and daughter-in-law, Mary Boyle.
A Christian service of burial will be held Monday, May 22, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Ocala, Florida.
