Nora P. Brown

Nora P. Brown, age 67, of Johnstown, NY, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2016. She was born in Speculator, NY on August 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Milton and Vivian Cook Brooks.

Nora is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1965 until 1967. She was a certified nurse’s assistant for the State of New York Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities in Speculator for many years. She is a member of the Love City Fellowship Church of Gloversville.

She was married to the late James T. Brown Sr. He predeceased her on October 14, 2001. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bingo. She loved traveling to Alaska and moved back to New York to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters, Katherine Fung Chen Pen of Schenectady, Lynette Foster-Singleton and her husband Billy of Gloversville and Tiffany Babcock of Wells, NY; a son, David Foster Sr. and his wife Rachael of Hope, NY. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Brooks of Alaska; a sister, Charlene Smith of Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nora was predeceased also by brothers, Ernie and Timothy Brooks.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service for Nora on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Northville Funeral Service Inc., 401 Bridge Street, Northville, NY 12134. The Rev.
