Delia Ann Mollica

Delia Ann Mollica, 70, passed away peacefully at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville Friday, November 13, 2015. Delia was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Rose and Peter Mollica; wife to Fred Hengber (deceased); sister to Andrew, Peter and Sal Mollica (deceased). Mom was surrounded by her loved ones: son, Brian; and daughter, Dina; and her five grandchildren, Sarah, Johnathan, Francesco, Luciano and Amanda.

Our mother was stricken very quickly with her disease and during that time family has been by her side including her son, Peter and wife Lori; as well as the many who have sent prayers and supported us through this very difficult time.

Our mother is survived by her four children, Peter, Louis, Brian Hengber; and Dina Bianco. She had 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews. Even though we all lived miles apart we did our very best to provide the support and love to our mom. She was a vibrant woman. She worked very hard for everything she had and would do anything for her children no matter what. She was the type of woman who would tell you what you may not have wanted to hear but needed to hear and you respected that. Growing up to the wonderful smells of home cooked sauce or sausage and peppers and the many other dishes she made brings the feeling of home. As a family we traveled many places, met many people. She was very creative: hand embroidered intricate works of art on clothes for my father and other family members; crocheted articles for every new grandchild. She was an artist true to heart in many facets. She moved to Gloversville in 2003 where her daughter resides. She also leaves behind her dear friend Donna, whom she met while still in Brooklyn and were avid bowlers and card players with their group of friends.

She leaves behind a legacy for all of her family and friends and she will be in our hearts and souls, forever and always. There will be a celebration of life service on April 16, 2016, tentatively in Gloversville NY.

Arrangements are in the care of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville NY 12078. Please visit the family’s online condolence website at, www.brbsfuneral.com.
