Benedict ‘B.J.’ E. Jacobs

Benedict “B.J.” E. Jacobs, 37 of Ridge Road, Glenville NY passed away Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady NY.

Born on April 14, 1978 in Amsterdam, Ben was the son of Benedict M. and Rose Mary Kokocki Jacobs, of Fonda NY.

He attended local schools and was a graduate of SUNY Albany. Ben was employed by Local 7 Union Pipe Fitters, in Albany, N.Y.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Scotia, NY.

Ben was an avid bowler and golfer; and he loved the New York Yankees.

He was also a member of the TNT Keglers Bowling Team. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Jill and looked forward to their yearly trips to Disney World in Florida.

He always looked forward to working on projects with his friends and kept physically fit by running and bicycling.

Ben most recently dabbled in learning to cook.

He is survived by his adoring wife Jill E. Nagengast Jacobs whom he married on September 14, 2013; his parents Benedict and Rose Mary Jacobs of Fonda NY; his sister and brother-in-law Kara (Bernard) Durfee of Ballston Spa, NY; his mother-in-law Elizabeth Klein Nagengast of Catskill, NY, father-in-law Joseph Nagengast of Albany, NY;niece Margaret Durfee, nephew Jacob Durfee, aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends. He will be missed by his beloved pets especially Kittle Little.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Scotia NY.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam N.Y., from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Ben to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northereastern NY Inc. in care of the funeral chapel.
