Ruth Summerson Conrad

Ruth Summerson Conrad died June 22, 2015. She was born July 10, 1921, in Renova, PA, the only child of M. Milo and Mildred McGarvey Summerson. Mrs. Conrad was a graduate of Southside High School, Elmira, NY and Genesee Hospital School of Nursing, Rochester, NY. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Rochester, her master’s degree at Columbia University in New York City and did additional post-graduate work at the University of Rochester.

Mrs. Conrad’s fifty year nursing career encompassed a wide range of activities in both service and teaching. These included supervisor, Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City, development of the nursing program at Monroe Community College, Rochester NY, and teaching at Syracuse University, SUNY Plattsburgh, and Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Johnstown, NY.

Her husband, Frank Conrad, predeceased her in February 2002.

There will be no calling hours or service. Mrs. Conrad made an anatomical gift to the Albany Medical College.
