∫ Tyler Schrader of Johnstown — Nature’s Prospect opening reception: The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30, Gloversville, 6 to 8 p.m. Free. This solo show features sculptures of wood and steel from the artist’s collection of works. Entry fee is $5 to see the show which runs through June 26; and free for members of the art center. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

∫ Sacandaga Valley Arts Network Artists’ Gallery Exhibit: Fulton County Visitor Center, Routes 29 and 30, Vail Mills. Free and open to the public. Gallery is open weekends.

∫ Kathy Klompas — guest artist: Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery, 30 N. Main St., Gloversville. Micropolis member artists work on display will include paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber art, batik, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, sculpture, jewelry and pottery. The gallery, inside Mohawk Harvest, is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The show will run through June. The exhibit will feature four local artists, all original artwork for the home and garden includes pottery, jewelry, paintings and sculpture. ∫ Fulton County Historian Samantha Hall-Saladino will present “Glove Capital of the World”: Gloversville Public Library, 34 W. Fulton St., Gloversville, 5:30 p.m. The presentation will be a historic view of glove making in Fulton County from the 18th century to present.

Memorial Day parades

Friday

∫ City of Johnstown, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The parade will take place on Main Street and run through downtown.

Sunday

∫ Tribes Hill memorial day parade, 11:30 a.m.

Monday

∫ Fonda to Fultonville Parade, 9 to 11 a.m. The parade will start at the County Office Building on Route 30A in Fonda and cross over the Mohawk River. It will end at the Soldier and Sailor monument at the intersection of Routes 30A and 5S in Fultonville.

∫ City of Gloversville, 9:30 a.m. The parade will start at Sixth Avenue and North Main Street, then move east on Sixth Avenue to Kingsboro Avenue, and then south on Kingsboro to Fulton Street. The parade route will then move west on Fulton Street to the main entrance of Prospect Hill Cemetery where it will be disband. At the completion of the parade, a memorial service, and the placement of wreaths, will take place at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in the cemetery

∫ Town of Glen, noon. Starting at the L.J. Hand Farm Center, Route 161, and proceed to the corner of Route 30A and Logtown Road. The parade will be followed by a short ceremony.
