Runaway found, multiple arrests made
COBLESKILL — The state police said they have located a teen who went missing in March.
Trooper said with the assistance of Cobleskill Police Department K9, Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office, and Schoharie County Child Protective Services, located Amanda Putorti, age 17, who was reported missing from the town of Richmondville on March. On Tuesday, police responded to a residence in Preston Hollow, where Putorti was found hiding in a small compartment in the wall. The investigation revealed that Putorti may be at that location and was not being held against her will. Putorti was assisted by several individuals who were preventing authorities from locating her.
Arrested in conjunction with the investigation were John Winnie, age 34, Jeremy Schaefer, age 38, and a 17-year-old male, all of Preston Hollow. They were all charged with obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child. The investigation is continuing.
State police would like to thank the public for their assistance by providing helpful information including sightings during the course of the investigation that lead to Putorti being located.
Woman charged with second degree rape
State Police BCI at Fonda arrested Maria Lomanto, 19, of Amsterdam for second degree rape, a class d felony.
Lomanto is accused of having sexual intercourse with a subject less than 15 years of age. The incident is alleged to have occurred in June at the victim’s residence.
Lomanto was released on an appearance ticket and is due in the Town of Amsterdam Court on August 2, at 6pm.
