Man passes out while watching kids

JOHNSTOWN — Cody E. Feldmann, 26, of Johnstown was charged by Johnstown police on Saturday with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police allege Feldmann passed out at a picnic table at a local deli while watching three small children. Police said when they made contact with Feldmann, it was determined he was intoxicated. The children were turned over to a family member.

No inspection leads to more charges

JOHNSTOWN — Lawrence P. Chest, 35, of Mayfield was charged by Johnstown police on July 20 with suspended registration and uninspected motor vehicle.

Bench warrants leads to arrest

JOHNSTOWN — Thomas W. Brown, 22, of Gloversville was arrested by Johnstown police on July 20 on a bench warrant out of City Court. Brown was arraigned and remanded to Fulton County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Man violates court order, arrested

JOHNSTOWN — Gary L. Freeman, 60, of Gloversville, was charged by Johnstown police on July 20 with second-degree criminal contempt for incident which occurred on July 17.

Police said Freeman violated a Mayfield Town Court order of protection while in Johnstown.

Driver faces gun charges, DWI

JOHNSTOWN — Lance W. David, 31, of Johnstown, was charged by Johnstown police on July 17 with one felony and two misdemeanors.

Police said a traffic stop was initiated when they noticed a vehicle parked blocking a driveway and half in the road while the driver was on a cell phone with the vehicle running. Police said they could smell alcohol coming from David and that he failed standard sobriety field tests.

During their investigation, police said David was in possession of a .22 caliber handgun which he was not allowed to possess due to a suspended pistol permit.

David was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated and having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher.

He posted $500 bail and released on appearance tickets.

Man allegedly takes brake rotors

JOHNSTOWN — Daniel F. Lamphere, 71, of Troy was charged by Johnstown police on July 17 for petit larceny for an incident which occurred on July 8.

Police said Lamphere allegedly stole numerous scrap brake rotors from a bin belonging to Brown’s Ford while the business was closed.

Lamphere posted $300 bail and was released on an appearance ticket.

Man gives fake name, tries to escape

STRATFORD — A 41-year-old man was arrested by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies for false personation and third-degree attempted escape following a report of a suspicious person in the town.

Jared K. Bareruther was arrested at 12:10 a.m. on Hadcock Road. Police said Bareruther allegedly gave a fictitious name and date of birth to sheriff’s deputies while investigating a report of a male entering vehicles and possibly stealing items on Mallett Hill Road and Hadcock Road in the town.

While being detained at the sheriff’s office in Johnstown, Bareruther allegedly attempted to escape.

He was arraigned in the Ephratah Town Court and was remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or S10,000 bond.
