Man faces charges after traffic stop

MAYFIELD — Corey J. Sumpter, 26, no address given, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies at 1:38 a.m. Saturday with driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a firearm, and other vehicle and traffic violations.

Deputies said he was charged following a traffic stop in the town. Deputies said Sumpter was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, as well as possessing a loaded firearm without a state pistol permit.

He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 insurance bond. He has since been released, a corrections officer said. He will appear later in Town Court.

Police: Man gets DWI on UTV

MAYFIELD — Clayton J. Pratt, 30, no address given, was charged by Fulton County sheriff’s deputies at 2:08 a.m. June 30 with felony driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable and prudent, unlawful possession of an ATV/UTV on a public highway, no helmet, and failure to produce proof of insurance.

Deputies said Pratt was arrested following a personal injury motor vehicle accident in the town. Deputies said he allegedly operated a utility task vehicle, UTV, also known as a “side by side,” in an intoxicated condition and was involved in an accident that caused injuries to his passenger.

Pratt was arraigned in Town Court and released to reappear later.

Deputies: Woman screamed obscenities

AMSTERDAM — Sonia C. Brennan, 43, of 166 McCraffrey St., was charged on Saturday by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies for disorderly conduct.

Brennan had been allegedly screaming obscenities outside and disturbing the peace. She was released on an appearance ticket to Town Court.

Deputies: Woman had bench warrant

AMSTERDAM — Nicole T. Ranieri, 34, of 1760 Helderburg Ave., Schenectady, was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on a bench warrant for failure to pay a fine.

Ranieri was arraigned and was released to appear at Town Court at a later date.
