Police charge man with DWI

GLOVERSVILLE – John C. Defrancis, 30, of 363 New Turnpike Rd., Fort Plain, was charged with driving while intoxicated, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and unlawful possession of marijuana by city police on May 20 at 1:23 a.m.

Officers said while on patrol they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction on West Fulton Street Extension. Police said after smelling alcohol coming from the driver, Defrancis, officers conducted a field sobriety test that yielded positive results for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

Defrancis was transported to the station where he was processed and released to a sober third part.

He is scheduled to appear in City Court at a later date.

Man charged with disorderly conduct

FLORIDA — Duane M. Harding, 21, of Fort Hunter was charged with disorderly conduct by state police on May 17.

He was released on an appearance ticket to return to the town of Florida court at a later date.

Troopers: Woman allegedly made threat

ESPERANCE — Christina M. Taylor, 36, of Schenectady, was charged by state police on May 17 with second-degree aggravated harassment for allegedly threatening someone.

She was released to a third party.

ESPERANCE –Robert H. Wood, 34, of Esperance was charged by state police on May 21 for second-degree aggravated harassment for allegedly threatening someone.

Wood was released to a third party.

Police: Woman choked another person

JOHNSTOWN — Valerie A. Ellerby, 47, of 113 Hoosac St., was charged by city police at 12:55 a.m. May 19 with obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.

Police said she was arrested at her residence after allegedly choking another person at that location.

Ellerby will appear later in City Court.

Man charged with misdemeanor

JOHNSTOWN — Charles M. Harshbarger, 19, of 184 Route 20A, Salisbury, was charged by city police at 12:21 a.m. May 21 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.

Police said he was charged on East State Street after a vehicle stop.

He will appear later in City Court.
