Driver charged with fleeing accident scene

GLOVERSVILLE — Matthew N. Holmes, 38, of 146 West St., was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident and having an open container in a motor vehicle by city police on May 7.

Holmes was taken into custody by city police following an investigation into a single vehicle hit and run investigation that occurred on Grand Street around 5:06 p.m. During the course of investigation, officers learned that Holmes drove off the road striking a tree and then fled on foot. Police said he was quickly apprehended.

Officers determined Holmes had been driving under the influence of alcohol after administering a standardized field sobriety test that yielded positive results. Holmes was additionally found to have an open alcoholic beverage container in the vehicle he crashed.

Holmes was taken into custody, processed and released with an appearance to return to City Court on a later date.

Driver charged with DWI, speeding

AMSTERDAM — Brian S. Lansburg, 43, of Amsterdam, was charged Saturday by state police with speeding in a posted zone, driving while intoxicated, and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Speeding leads to drunk driving charge

NORTHVILLE — Lawrence W. Vrooman, 55, of Northville was charged on Sunday by state police with speeding in a posted zone, having a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher, driving while intoxicated and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Driving while ability impaired charged

AMSTERDAM — Geraldine Hill, 49, of Amsterdam was charged by state police on Saturday with no stop lamps and driving while ability impaired.
