Driver charged with suspended registration

JOHNSTOWN — Amanda E. Austro, 33, of 11 Reid St., Amsterdam, was charged by city police at 8:09 p.m. Feb. 13 with one misdemeanor count of suspended registration.

Police said she was charged on South Comrie Avenue after a traffic stop.

She will appear later in City Court.

Woman charged with child endangerment

JOHNSTOWN — Brianna C. Gillis, 25, of 236 N. Perry St., was charged by city police at 5:53 p.m. Feb. 16 with three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said she was charged on South Comrie Avenue in connection with Feb. 12 offenses. Police said an investigation revealed Gillis left her three children aged four and three years, and a three-month-old home alone for an extended period of time.

Gillis will appear later in City Court.

Traffic violation leads to charges

JOHNSTOWN — John W. Smith, 37, of 537 Auriesville Road, Fultonville, was charged by city police at 11:55 p.m. Feb. 16 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and failure to stop at a stop sign and improper turn, both violations.

Police said he was charged on Burton Street after a traffic stop. Police said Smith was driving with a suspended license.

The suspect will appear later in City Court.

Man arrested on active warrant

JOHNSTOWN — John P. Damphier Jr., 28, of 10 McKinley Ave., was arrested by city police at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 18 on a warrant.

Police said he was picked up on East Main Street on an active warrant issued by City Court.

He will appear later in City Court.

Loud muffler leads to unlicensed charge

JOHNSTOWN — Christopher M. Duncan, 26, of 329 N. Perry St., was charged by city police at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 18 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and inadequate muffler, a violation.

Police said Duncan was arrested on North Perry Street after a traffic stop.

He will appear later in City Court.

Unsafe passing results in DWI charge

JOHNSTOWN — Matthew P. Koon, 32, of 145 Park Drive, Fultonville, was charged by city police at 10:09 p.m. Feb. 19 with driving while intoxicated and unsafe passing, both misdemeanors.

Police said he was charged after a traffic stop on North Market Street.

He will appear later in City Court.
