Stalking complaint leads to arrest

GLOVERSVILLE — Jason J. Anselment, 32, of 34 S. Main St., was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and unlawful imprisonment Tuesday after city police received a stalking complaint.

Police responded to Forest Avenue following the stalking complaint. The victim was interviewed on the scene, stating to police that Anselment held her against her will in his apartment. Once she was able to leave, Anselment allegedly followed her in his vehicle.

Officers located Anselment allegedly driving his vehicle while intoxicated and performed a field sobriety test to confirm. He was transported to the station where he was processed and held for arraignment.

Anselment followed the alleged victim in his vehicle after she left his apartment on foot and officers allege Anselment’s blood-alcohol content was above 0.18 percent

During processing, officers found Anselment was previously convicted of a DWI in 2010 leading to the felony charge. He was remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

Loud muffler leads to unlicensed charge

JOHNSTOWN — Christina M. Mcarthur, 28, of 23 Main St., St. Johnsville, was charged by city police at 12:05 a.m. Feb. 13 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and inadequate muffler, a violation.

Police said she was charged on North Perry Street after a traffic stop. Police said she was driving with a suspended license.

She will appear later in City Court.

Snowmobile driver charged with DWI

JOHNSTOWN — Rondal L. McConnell, 29, of 220 N. Perry St., was charged by city police at 1:55 p.m. Feb. 14 with reckless driving, driving while intoxicated on a snowmobile, and third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, all misdemeanors; and unregistered snowmobile, a violation.

Police said McConnell was arrested on North Market Street after officers observed a snowmobile operating on the Fulton County Rail Trail and various streets. Police said he attempted to flee on the snowmobile and was taken into custody without incident after a brief pursuit. The snowmobile was found to have been stolen and was impounded and later returned to the owner, police said.

McConnell will appear later in City Court.

Traffic violation results in pot charges

JOHNSTOWN — Michael R. Smith, 36, of 150 Second Ave., Gloversville, was charged by city police at 10:38 p.m. Feb. 15 with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right, both violations.

Police said he was charged following a traffic stop on Townsend Avenue.

Smith will appear later in City Court.

Failure to signal leads to DWI charge

JOHNSTOWN — James R. Gurga, 34, of 178 Morey Road, Caroga Lake, was charged by city police at 9:57 p.m. Feb. 15 with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors: and failure to signal turn, a violation.

Police said Gurga was charged on North Melcher Street following a traffic stop.

He will appear later in Town Court.
