Woman charged with abandoning dog

GLOVERSVILLE –Deborah E. Scott, 24, of 106 Yale St. was charged with abandonment of an animal by city police on Wednesday.

Officers said Scott was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant issued by the City Court. The warrant was issued following an investigation where it was learned Scott abandoned her dog. The dog was turned over to the Regional Animal Shelter in October.

Scott was processed and held for arraignment in City Court.

Man allegedly shoplifts from store

GLOVERSVILLE — Jeremy A. Shook, 40, of 6614 Route 9 in Hudson was charged with petit larceny by city police on Saturday.

Officers said they were called to Walmart for a shoplifter in custody by loss prevention. Police said during the course of the investigation they learned that Shook had taken merchandise from the store and walked past all points of sale without paying for it. Shook was arrested and transported to the station for processing where he was released with an appearance ticket to appear in Gloversville City Court on a later date.

Failure to appear in court leads to arrest

GLOVERSVILLE — Mackenzie R. Taylor, 20, of 67 E. Main St., Apartment 1 in St. Johnsville was taken into custody on a bench warrant by city police on Friday.

Officers said Taylor was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Judge Traci DiMezza on Dec.13 from Gloversville City Court for failing to appear at court to answer an initial charge of second-degree criminal contempt.

Taylor was arrested, processed, and held for arraignment.

Accident leads to speeding charges

GLOVERSVILLE — One person was ticketed following an accident in the city on Monday according to city police.

Officers said Jeffrey Arnold was driving south on Carpenter Street when he allegedly lost control and struck a utility pole on the west side of the street.

Arnold was ticketed for speeding.

Driver rear-ends vehicle, ticketed

GLOVERSVILLE — One person was ticketed following a two-vehicle accident in the city on Thursday according to city police.

Officers said Cassandra L. Monette of Gloversville was driving on South Kingsboro Extension at the roundabout when she rear ended another vehicle driven by Michael W. Stover of Gloversville, which had stopped due to other traffic inside the circle.

Monette was issued tickets for uninspected motor vehicle and following too closely.

Driver side-swipes car, cited by cops

GLOVERSVILLE — One person was ticketed following a two-vehicle accident in the city on Thursday according to city police.

Officers said Harold B. Funk of Gloversville was driving west on East Fulton Street when he side swiped a parked vehicle causing minor damage.

Funk was issued a ticket for failure to stay in lane.
