Teen arrested for failure to appear

MINDEN — Mitchell E. Evens, 19, of 42 Main St., Fort Plain was charged by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on Nov. 24 for failing to appear. Evens was brought to town court on a bench warrant and remanded to Montgomery County Corrections Facility.

Drivers asleep in car, DWI charged

GLOVERSVILLE — A city woman was charged after city police said she was found intoxicated, and asleep, behind the wheel of a vehicle in a city parking lot.

Jennifer C. Allen, 37, of 342 County Highway 122 was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated by city police on Nov. 25.

Officers said they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 335 N. Main St. Officers located Allen sleeping in the driver’s seat of her vehicle while it was running in the parking lot of Century Linen.

Upon contact with Allen, officers could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Allen’s breath and, upon further investigation, it was determined that Allen was under the influence of alcohol.

Allen was arrested, transported to the station, processed, and held for arraignment in Gloversville City Court.

Man charged with assault

GLOVERSVILLE — Richard Goebel Sr., 56, of 13 Eagle St., Apartment 2 was charged with third-degree assault by city police on Thursday.

Officers said they were dispatched to Goebel’s address for the report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the parties who were involved, and they allege that during the course of the fight, Goebel struck another male with an object, resulting in physical injuries to victim.

Goebel was processed and held for arraignment in Gloversville City Court.

Traffic stop leads to DWI charges

GLOVERSVILLE — Luther J. Goodrich, 60, of 383 N. Main St. was charged with driving while intoxicated by city police on Sunday.

Officers said while on patrol, they conducted a vehicle stop for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Upon contact with the operator, identified as Goodrich, officers said they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Goodrich’s breath. Upon further investigation it was determined that Goodrich was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Goodrich was arrested, transported to the station, processed, issued traffic tickets to appear in City Court at a later date and time and released to a third party.

Petit larceny charge leads to drug charge

GLOVERSVILLE — Shane C. Hisert, 37, of 69 Yale St. was charged with petit larceny by city police on Saturday.

Officers said Hisert was wanted on an arrest warrant stemming from a petit larceny complaint.

During processing, Hisert was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Hisert was held for arraignment in City Court.
